Both are cotton-polyester blends, but the cotton content differs. ‘Poly cotton’ typically refers to polyester-dominant blends like 65/35 — polyester is the larger share. ‘CVC’ (Chief Value Cotton) is cotton-dominant, usually 60% cotton or higher. CVC fabrics feel softer and breathe better; poly cotton blends are stronger, cheaper to produce, and resist shrinkage. Buyers choose based on end-use and price point — and we supply both.
Yes, subject to the spinning mill’s capabilities. Standard ratios (65/35, 52/48, 50/50, 60/40 CVC) are routinely stocked. For custom ratios, we source through our mill network — please enquire with your specification and required volume, and we’ll confirm feasibility and lead time.
Melange-effect cotton blend yarn is produced by blending pre-dyed cotton or polyester fibres before spinning — so the colour is locked at the fibre stage, producing the characteristic flecked heather look that doesn’t wash out. We supply melange in both cotton and poly-cotton variants for fashion knitwear and sportswear applications.
All cotton-containing yarns experience some shrinkage on first wash. Polyester content reduces this significantly — a 65/35 poly cotton blend will shrink less than 100% cotton, and CVC sits between the two. For shrinkage-sensitive applications (uniforms, sized garments), buyers typically test wash trials on supplied samples before locking specifications.
